National Plastics: wall panels hub wireframe and build spec
Fibre Marketing, 23 September 2026. Ref W1-a. Colours and type approximate the live National Plastics template. This is a layout for review, not a developed build.
Page: https://www.nationalplastics.co.uk/wall-panels.html (live, kept). Single-page rebuild on the existing address, so no redirects are needed for the hub itself. This is the URL currently ranking in Google, so the rebuild stays on it. No redirect and no address change for the hub.

Changed Header, menu and breadcrumb as live. Green = the only two menu additions
Changed Header, menu and breadcrumb stay as live, including the existing Kitchen and Bedroom links. The only change is adding the two new spoke pages (in green) once they are built, so the menu matches the type tiles below.

Wall Panels

Changed

Definition block, 40 to 60 words. What wall panels are, what they are made from (PVC, composite and wood-veneer acoustic slats), which rooms they suit and the two headline benefits: waterproof and no grout, fitted over existing tiles or plaster. Written as one self-contained answer.

Changed Live, the page carries two near-identical SEO intros and two matching "Why choose ... instead of tiles?" bullet lists in the HTML, with the promo banner between them. The second set appears to be hidden or collapsed on the page. NP to confirm how it renders Both become one quotable definition, a trust strip (new) and the promo in the same position. The PVC framing moves to the new PVC page so the hub can compete for "wall panels" and "wall panelling" (21,000 searches each).

New Material and finish are the secondary navigation, shown as links rather than headings, which is the pattern agreed for the fascias and soffits page. It gives every attribute page a body link from the hub, not just a menu link, and keeps the heading structure clean.

Content slot: 150 to 250 words under the table. Owner: Content.
New Jump links make a long page scannable, a gap the fascia guide found against competitors. The table is the quotable answer to "which wall panel should I buy", and it states plainly that acoustic panels are not for wet areas, which avoids wrong purchases.

Changed The "Why choose ... instead of tiles?" bullets become one comparison table. It is the comparison searchers and AI answers look for, and it hands a contextual link to the vs tiles guide, which has only 1 to 4 internal links today.

New A specification table in place of written descriptions, as agreed for fascias and soffits. Sizes are the most practical buying fact, and each row links to the matching width or thickness page, giving those attribute pages a relevant contextual link.

Content slot: numbered steps (prepare the wall, fit trims, cut the first panel, adhesive, work along the wall), 300 to 350 words. Carry over the live FAQ answer and expand it. Inline links to trims, adhesives and the fitting guide. Owner: Content.
Changed The fitting method is buried inside one long FAQ answer today. As its own numbered section it can answer "can I do wall panelling myself", a live People Also Ask question, and link to trims and adhesives at the point someone needs them.

How many wall panels do I need?

New
Content slot: short method (wall area ÷ panel coverage, plus a waste allowance), one worked example and a summary of typical costs, 200 to 250 words. Links down to the "how many panels" and "wall panel cost" guides. Owner: Content. NP to confirm waste % and any cost figure
New Answers the practical buying question at the moment of purchase and connects the two buying guides the review found under-linked. A panel calculator would be the stronger long-term version, logged as a later tool idea.

National Plastics is a trading name of Specialist Building Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Epwin Group. Footer as live.
Changed Help CTA (changed) and footer (same)
Changed Live, the phone invitation is a line of text at the end of the FAQs. It becomes a CTA band with the same number and a branch link. Footer untouched.

What's changed and why

The problem. The main wall panels page is built as a PVC bathroom panel listing. Its intro leads on plastic, its only banner is "Bathroom Wall Panels" and the first rows of the grid are white PVC bathroom panels. It sits at #16 for "wall panels" while the #1 result, a broad decorative and acoustic collection on a weaker domain than National Plastics, draws an estimated 40,600 visits a month. The hub also gives the sub-category pages beneath it very little support: the room and type pages are reachable only through the menu.

The job of this page after the rebuild. Own the generic head terms, then pass visitors and link value down to the right spoke, by type and room first and by design, width and thickness second. It follows the structure agreed for fascias and soffits: one short quotable definition under the H1, clear routes out to the child pages, attributes shown as links not headings, a specification table, a small number of clearly headed guide sections and an FAQ set built from live People Also Ask questions.

Redirects

None for the hub. It is rebuilt on its current address, /wall-panels.html, which is the URL ranking in Google. The new PVC and peel-and-stick pages are new URLs, so no redirects are involved there either.

5. Attribute page title convention

This is the rule that unblocks the 22 attribute page titles. Each title describes the page's own attribute, not "Bathroom Wall Panels":

GroupPatternExample
Design[Design] Wall Panels | National PlasticsMarble Effect Wall Panels | National Plastics

Exception: where a design is sold only as a bathroom or shower product, a room qualifier can stay.

Still to do

Content: copy for sections 1 and 6 to 13, and a final People Also Ask check before publishing. Dev: build the layout and switch on the PVC and peel-and-stick tiles when those pages go live. NP: the confirmations flagged above.

Scope note. The top results for "wall panels" are heavy with MDF shaker panelling kits and wood slats. National Plastics does not appear to sell MDF panelling, so the hub competes on waterproof, decorative and acoustic panels rather than trying to cover everything that ranks. That is the honest limit on how far this page can climb for the head term.

Schema for the wall panels hub

This code is an example to show structure. Validated code follows once the page is signed off. Values in [square brackets] are placeholders, not facts.

The review confirms a valid Product, Offer, Breadcrumb and FAQ framework already exists, so this extends it. It is deliberately limited to what the current platform can support; the product-level review, shipping and returns mark-up waits for the new templates.

ItemList (add): the type and room categories

Every ListItem needs a real, live url. A placeholder such as "[URL once live]" is the one error this block throws in validation, so the PVC page is added to the list only once its URL exists. Keep the positions sequential when you do.

One entry per visible FAQ, eight in total. Google now shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of authoritative sites, so no visual enhancement is expected. The mark-up is kept because it makes each answer easy for search engines and AI tools to read, and it already exists on the page.

What we are deliberately not marking up

TypeWhy not
AggregateRating on the hubSite-wide or category-level ratings are not eligible for review stars and risk a manual action. Ratings belong on product pages, planned for the new platform.
Product / Offer for every item in the gridAlready present on product pages. Repeating it on a category page adds weight without benefit.
OrganizationA site-wide job in the review (consolidating to one entity), not something to add page by page.
HowTo for the fitting sectionGoogle no longer shows HowTo rich results. Clear numbered HTML does the same job.
